Studio Wall

I'm working hard and the studio is filling with new paintings. These colorful textured backgrounds are really providing an exciting ground for the trees. It will be interesting to see them on the wall at Foster White Galleries in Seattle. That will give me a chance to understand better what I've been attempting.

Winter 2018

It's winter, cold and snowy outdoors, not my favorite time of year. But it's a great time to work in the studio transforming my experiences into art. I'm getting my teeth into this new approach to tree paintings. The abstracted backgrounds are a real challenge to paint. Then the tree image has to be wet-drawn onto the surface so that the composition works as a whole. It's amazing how quickly time passes as I work at preparing for my next show.
